Music Lessons Program

Our goal is to provide high quality music instruction to each student involved in our program.  We accomplish this goal through proper teaching of musical skills and concepts, coupled with establishing a positive atmosphere of praise and encouragement during each lesson.  It is our view that both of these elements are essential for an effective music program.

Lessons
Students will receive four or five half-hour private lessons per month (depending upon how many lesson days fall in each month).  Lesson times are assigned to fit the schedules of the teacher and the student.  Changes to the assigned lesson time must be agreed to by both teacher and student in advance.

Missed Lessons and Make-ups
To ensure the effectiveness of the lesson program, students need to attend lessons on a regular basis.  Every effort should be made NOT to cancel lessons.  Occasionally a lesson which conflicts with other social activities such as school programs or dental appointments will need to be rescheduled.  With sufficient notice (at least 24 hours), these lessons may be rescheduled.  If there is an emergency, a lesson may also be rescheduled.  However, students will not be able to make-up last-minute, non-emergency cancellations and no-shows.

Fees
Lesson tuition is paid by the month to reserve the teacher's time.  Payment for each month's lessons is due by the first lesson of the month.  No invoices will be issued, and we are no longer accepting tuition payment by the individual lesson.
There are different payment plans available including discounts for advance payments.
There is also a discount for families with two or more students taking lessons.
Students also receive a 10% discount off of all sheet music and books that they purchase.

Recitals
Our lesson program includes participation in our annual recital.  Parents, friends, and family are invited to attend this festive occasion which features music by the students, awards, and a reception at the close of the program.  We encourage but do not require participation in this enjoyable event.
